I’d like to follow up that DIY post by Jeremy with a coffee related post about Starbucks, in a Geneva-neutral tone. I went to Seattle this weekend and visited the one that started it all in Pike Street market. If you stripped the green aprons and recognizable menus from the store, you’d totally forget that you were standing inside the one that spawned it all. The place looked like a cute little cafe in the corner, complete with a bluegrass busker in the front. It’s crazy to think that something so corporate was once just ONE little cafe in a public market.

caffeinated world

While I was waiting for my drink, they had a world map next to the bar that accumulated all the Starbucks’ in respective countries. Walking around Vancouver, you’d think we’d have like 10 billion of them. Well, we only have 867 locations in Canada, nothing compared to the 10,777 in the US alone. Isn’t that maddening!?!? God help India, who currently have 0. Again, I write in a neutral tone, because my iced Americano was pretty amazing.
